Running a blog isn’t free, especially if it doesn’t attract lots of visitors (yet). And visitors are exactly what you need if you want to get into the more profitable affiliate marketing programs. I had a different method of soliciting donations before, but it soon became clear that that wouldn’t work.
It was time for Plan B, also known as the PayPal button!
I’ve added the button into my sidebar, right in the first block in which I warn people that there may be affiliate links in my posts. That way, it’s one of the first things people see when they visit this page. However, I left the choice to my readers as to whether and how much they could give. Even little bits help!
Also, since I am committed to supporting Ukraine, there might be some links in my posts from now on to support projects in that country, or even whole posts dedicated to specific projects and organizations. Social media is a horrible place, so I feel more confident about promoting their work here, with links back from SM. I am not daunted by hateful comments, but I am tired from resisting the temptation to call down/up hellfire on those haters’ butts! Hence, my decision.
Now you know.
I’ll gradually edit all my old posts that contained the previous link in their texts. That change won’t happen overnight, as there are many posts. Please bear with me during the process.
